Makeup and AcneMakeup and Acne - Is your temporary solution, part of the problem?

Although there is a popular myth that too much makeup causes acne in women, this has not been tested clinically. However, it has been scientifically proven that regular makeup can aggravate pre-existing acne.

The makeup can cause breakouts?

There are several factors that can aggravate existing acne, or simply lead to "outbreaks." However, it manifests itself differently in each person and depends on other factors such as age, sex, hormones, time and stress.

The most important relationship between makeup and acne, can be summarized in these two main factors:

Cosmetics: The typical cosmetics such as lotions, gels, oils and face masks prepared from oils. These products can cause clogging of the pores, although the intended use is for skin care and hair.
For this reason, when purchasing these products, you should pay close attention to reading the product labels. Be sure to read: "oil free", "non-comedogenic" or "no acnegenic."
Frequent washing: cleaning or flushing of the skin repeatedly, and the use of deep cleansing and astringent, can cause skin irritation, and thus aggravate acne.

Tips
For makeup, we recommend the use of water-based makeup, dry powder or hypoallergenic.
To care for your skin using products whose labels read: "oil free", "will not clog pores", "no acnegenic"    and "non-comedogenic.
If you have dandruff or oily hair, use an anti-dandruff shampoo can help.
Wash your face only 2 times a day (no more), with water and mild soap. Do it with gentle movements    and avoid using astringents, abrasive, since these can cause irritation of the skin, and thus will not             achieve that acne improves.
Avoid using facial creams oils based on dubious sources, including hair tonics.
It is also important to keep clean all those makeup applicators, such as brushes and sponges after use    to prevent pimples. Otherwise, bacteria accumulate these elements, causing breakouts.
When washing your face, you should use a clean towel to prevent breakouts.
If not necessary, avoid sun exposure. Use under makeup, sunscreen or moisturizers to choose level of     at least SPF 15.

What Is Acne?

What is acne?-The main thing you need to know.

What Is Acne?
Acne is a very common and annoying condition that affects the sebaceous glands of the skin. The tiny holes in the skin (pores ) connect to oil glands under the skin . These glands produce an oily substance called sebum. The pores are connected to the glands by a channel called follicle . Follicles within the oil leads to dead skin cells to the surface of the skin . A also grows through the follicle fine hair that comes out of the skin. When the follicle becomes clogged gland on the skin , this is when a pimple develops. Most grains are typically found on the face, neck, back , chest and shoulders , but can occur anywhere , literally. Acne can cause unpleasant permanent marks ( scars) , but not life threatening . Acne occurs when the head of hair , sebum and skin cells form a plug . A bacterium that grows in the plug causes swelling . When the plug starts to break down , a pimple grows.

What is acne? - Popular theories

Acne is the most common disease of the skin. Men and women of all ages and races can get acne , but it is generally believed to be a disease in adolescence , it is also common in adults. It is estimated that up to 80 % of the population aged between 11 and 30 experience some form of acne. Even the older generation , as old as in their fifties (though less common ) can suffer from acne. The cause of acne that occupies the first place has not been established , although people have many theories . To clear up a misunderstanding , a diet certainly does not cause acne , although many people believe that this is true. If you eat a lot of fatty foods or a lot of chocolate and crisps plays no role in acne. While it is true that eating well can benefit your complexion , acne ( at first instance ) is not caused by what you eat .

What is acne? - What the experts say

Doctors and dermatologists believe that could be the increase in hormones at puberty, which can cause the oil glands become clogged. Older women may have acne due to hormonal changes during pregnancy , and taking the oral contraceptive pill can also suffer from acne as a side effect . If any member of your immediate family suffered from acne as well , there is a great chance that you too, as it is hereditary. Some medications, particularly some antibiotics can cause stains, and use of cosmetics based on particularly greasy oil. Acne can be treated with home remedies, OTC products , topical face washes or creams or in severe cases , a course of antibiotics and / or steroids in a given period is prescribed depending on the type of acne you have and gravity. The quicker the acne is , the lower the incidence of scarring. Your doctor may advise you or refer you to a dermatologist (a skin specialist ) who can work with you so you get the best possible treatment .
